1st CA17140 Conference: Abstract submission deadline postponed to July 26

Dear COSTers,

although so far we have rceived more than 50 abstracts for our 1st CA17140 Conference in Riga, we decided to extend the deadline for abstract submission to July 26, 2019.

Aftr that date, the Scient6ific Committe will start the abstract selection process for the assignemnt of the fully supported oral communications.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSC) Individual Fellowship awarded to Dr. Evgeny K. Apartsin

Dear COSTers,

it is a pleasure to announce that our CA17140 member fro m Russia, Dr. Evgeny K. Apartsin, has been awarded the MSC Individual fellowship with the project "Design of multifunctional phosphorous dendritic systems for drug delivery" — EUREKA (grant No. 844217).

Dr. Apartsin will carry out the scientific activity of his MSC project in France, at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination of the CNRS in Toulouse, France, in collaboration with Prof. Jean-Pierre Majoral and Prof. Anne-Marie Caminade.

Nanomaterials (MDPI): Special Issue on Safety and Biocompatibility of Metallic Nanoparticles

Dear COSTers,

our WG2 leader, Dr. Ivana Vinkovic Vrcek, will be the the Guest Editor of the Nanomaterials (MDP) Special Issue on Safety and Biocompatibility of Metallic Nanoparticles.

This Special Issue aims to cover all aspects of safe production, safe use and safe disposal of mNPs promoting implementation of the SbD concept. Contributions are welcome on:

  • methodologies for design and production of less hazardous mNPs using combination of non-testing predictions together with high-throughput screening tools,
  • characterisation of mNPs providing the key characteristics that influence the release, exposure, behaviour, effects and subsequent environmental and/or human risks of different forms, types...
