About Short Term Scientific Missions

Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) are aimed at strengthening existing networks and fostering collaborations by allowing researchers participating in a given COST Action to visit an institution or laboratory in another Participating COST Country / an approved Near Neighbour Country institution or an approved International Partner Country institution. A STSM should specifically contribute to the overall scientific objectives of the COST Action, whilst at the same time enable researchers to learn new techniques or gain access to specific expertise, instruments and/or methods not available in their own institutions.

Please note that STSMs grant applications must be in line with the main NANO2CLINIC scientific priorities, that is:

  • design, synthesis and characterization of nanosystems carrying anticancer drugs (i.e., nanomedicines), including development of GMP protocols
  • pre-clinical testing of efficacy, pharmacokinetics and toxicity of nanosystems and nanomedicines, including preparation of guidelines for clinical trials and regulatory aspects of nanomedicines
